Bridal wear has come a long way from the stiff, over-embellished and froufrou-skirted styles our grandmothers wore, and the Jenny Packham Spring 2012 bridal collection is a prime example of that.
The bridal line is modern, yet touches on the classic look of Grecian gowns, featuring soft draping and gathers that cross beautifully over the body. The styles are elegant and possess a soft prettiness that is often overlooked by designers who just want to put a contemporary spin on bridal wear (and so end up using too-bright colors and patterns). For example, while Packham uses light and subtle print to update the look of traditional wedding wear, she doesn’t go so far as to throw tradition completely out the window. trendhunter
